We of course spent time in St. George shopping, eating out, and seeing a movie. (Jeff loved the shopping part!)
Monday afternoon was spent hiking, yes mom we actually went hiking and we enjoyed it! We ventured up Kannarraville Falls, a local favorite of mine and Jeff's. The water was very cold, and very high, but we still had a great time. Here's some pictures of our fun adventure:
You have to hike up and around and across and through the river and surrounding area to get to this point where you enter the canyon. Usually the river is not this full and you are not constantly walking through it, but as you can see that was not the case today.
Here's the first waterfall you come to. Easy to climb and fun to see and you don't have to get wet.
And here's the second waterfall. Not usually so treacherous, but today very difficult. You first have to get onto the ladder, which is broken in half and does not go all the way up to the top.
Then you have to put your foot into the waterfall onto rocks that are slick and smooth and oh yeah, you can't see them. Not to mention the water is pounding down on your foot wanting to push it back out. Then after you've anchored your first foot, you have to grab the rope and pull yourself up and find a spot for your other foot, and then climb to the top, all while being pounded by rushing water.
But don't worry...we all made it. Yes, I made it to, but someone had to take the pictures and then stash the camera with our bags before going up so it wouldn't get wet.
