My little baby boy (not sure I can call him a baby anymore) is now 1 year old! And it has been the best year ever! To love and raise a child of my own is a life changing and absolutely amazing experience. I love being a mommy, even with late night feedings, dirty diapers, snotty noses, and food throwing. It's all worth it!
This little guy sure has changed and grown a lot since day 1.
Since the beginning Owen has been a very sweet and good natured baby. He is quiet, content and always happy. Since four weeks old he's always had a smile on his face. He's been quite the charmer with his winning smile too. I often had people ask me if he ever cried, to which I responded, "only when hungry". He truly never cries unless hurt or hungry.
Owen has been on the go since a very young age. He was rolling over at 3 1/2 months, sitting up at 5 months, and crawling and pulling himself up to things at 6 months, standing on his own and taking his first steps at 10 months, and now walking at 11 months! He does not like to sit still and rarely does, unless eating or right before bed, when reading stories. This has made church an interesting experience for the last 6 months as we fought to keep him contained.
He's recently expanded his vocabulary to include not just uh-oh, but dada (which he now correlates with Jeff) baby, bye-bye, and papa (for grandpa). He's still terrified of both grandpas upon first site, but says papa before mama!
You can't have a birthday without a party, but that wasn't enough for Owen, he got two parties!

We discovered that Owen is a very dainty eater and doesn't like to be messy. It took some time to really get into the cake, but he did it.

Best way to get him clean: in the bathroom sink!
Thanks to Grandma & Grandpa, Aunts & Uncles, and Cousins who spoiled Owen with lots of great gifts!
