Christmas Festivities

*CHRISTMAS EVE*
Our Christmas Eve was spent celebrating with the Rocks. We enjoyed another progressive dinner with an ethnic theme. Each dish was to be an ethnic food.
We started off at Jarad & Jenni's (Jeff's brother) with appetizers of crab wontons and mini crepes.

While we were there, Ellyn invited Jenny and me to a tea party she prepared herself.
Our next stop was Jenny and Thayne's house (Jeff's sister) where we enjoyed oriental salad. Sorry for the blurred pictures, our camera battery was dying.

Our last stop was at Jeff's parents' house where we had the main course of tamales and rice.

It was a little far to have everyone trek down to our house for dessert, so we shared our portion at his parents too. We made peppermint Italian Gelato and biscotti (not homemade).

After all of the delicious food was gone, we played games, we had a dance party, and we shared some of our favorite Christmas memories. We had a great time together as a family, and missed those who couldn't join us, you were in our thoughts.

The party doesn't stop there...
*CHRISTMAS DAY*

We spent the night at Jeff's parents' house and had a relaxing and fun Christmas morning with more delicious food, fun, and gifts. Jeff and I brought our gifts along to open that morning and we both had some great surprises. Jeff got me a cute new coat (picked it out all by himself) and Jeff got some great new books, his favorite a drum music book.

The family also received a package from Jamin (Jeff's brother on a mission) that we opened that morning.

After all of our celebrations with the Rocks, we headed up to Ogden for more fun. We spent the next 4 days there where we ate too much food, opened more gifts, played games, did some after Christmas shopping, stayed up way too late, and slept in much too long. My brother Daniel and his wife Hannah were here from Ohio and it was so fun to see them again. We always have to mention the fun we had with our niece and nephew, Emma and James, too.

Emma loved playing with Aunt Hannah's puppy, Tunia

We got into the Rock n' Roll spirit as we tried our skills at Rock Band.
Mom REALLY got into it!

But let us not forget the real meaning of Christmas. Tis' the season to reflect on our Savior's birth and the miracle that was. What a blessing it is to have the gospel in our lives and know that we have a Savior whom we will live with once again. Jeff and I are so grateful for the blessing it is to have such wonderful families and to have them so close. We love you all so much!
Remember, "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given...and is name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace." Isaiah 9:6
May we all seek him is our hope and prayer.
