Here's a quick update of what's going on in the Rock world:
Jeff has a new calling! He's no longer the 2nd Counselor of YM/Deacon Quorum Advisor/Assistant Scout Master, he's ...........drum roll please............ the Young Men's President!! I was completely surprised by this and was not expecting it, but Jeff saw it coming and didn't warn me. Our Bishop had asked Jeff one night how long we were planning on staying in the ward and Jeff made the mistake of telling him another year. We're both excited though, and Jeff's already started to make some great changes in the program. The young men really respect and look up to Jeff and I know he will be a good example for them.
Last month Jeff quit his job at Southwest Plumbing Supply as the warehouse manager because he's now in school full time. He's attending the Southwest Applied Technology College and completing the automotive program. He was really excited to 1) quit his job, and 2) go to school for something he loves doing. He gets to work on cars all day long and he gets to do it in a state of the art facility (no more cactus lamps under the hood, woohoo!) with all kinds of cool tools he can play with. When he finishes the program in June, he can become ASE Certified in 8 areas. Another bonus--Jeff currently has two vehicles that he's fixing up and this program has given him the opportunity to not only fix them in a very short period of time, but he has the expertise of his teachers to make sure he's doing it all correctly, the FIRST time.
Jeff was also able to find a great opportunity where he can work part time, in the evenings after work, just a couple of nights a week. He started with a great company called Primerica, about a month ago. They are a financial services company that have great services that help families fix broken finances and properly protect themselves. They are an awesome company and we are really excited to be a part of it. Jeff has been getting a big financial education and has been learning a lot about asset management. He even got his license last week to be able to sell life insurance. He studied for weeks for the grueling test, and he was able to pass it on the first try! Good Job Honey!! The part we love the most is being able to help families change their lives for the better :)
Wow, I should have called this post the JEFF UPDATE. It all seems to be about him lately.
