The Cars I Have Owned Or Sold Or Almost Sold

The other day I was thinking to myself i wonder how many cars i have owned or sold or almost sold. so it starts out on a sunny day in June 2006 i had just returned from my mission to Texas and my sister was getting married in a couple of weeks. my dad comes to me one day and says "Jeff you are such an awesome son i want you to have this and whips out the keys to a 1985 VW Jetta (Pictured Below is not my actual vehicle although its looks close to this one, mine had cooler rims, but it's in a junk yard somewhere now)my dad had put 2 transmissions in it before he found one that actually worked. I had that car for the summer then drove to salt lake with it and ended up selling it to my best friend Casey Broadhead for $1850.00 i didn't have a car after that so i ended up having to ride the grey hound bus back to cedar city the scariest ride of my life i didn't even make it to cedar i called my parents and told them to pick me up in parowan 20 miles north of cedar. so i didn't have a car for a little while so my dad let me drive the 1987 chevy celebrity eurosport which will come into play a little laterthen my dad and I did some trade work for a 1985 F150 that had the ford 351 windsor it had blown head gaskets, so i put some work into it and got it running (i never did get that vaccum leak fixed it had some problems idling when it was cold) and it ran awesome (pictured below is not my actual vehicle it was brown with tan down the middle on the sides where the blue is but other then that it looked just like this one minus the rust.) i ended up selling the truck due to lack of use, and fuel consumption, about a year and a half later to a guy who owned a farm, for $1500.00 a little low but still good for me.
so during this time of fixing the truck i stopped driving the celebrity and bought a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix SE with the 3.8 V6, it had about 220 HP, fun car. i picked that up for $900.00 because the engine had hydro-locked thats when the coolant from the engine gets into the cylinders and since you can't compress liquid it normally does major damage to the engine, but i got lucky and it didn't do anything, so i changed the intake portion of the engine and it ran like a champ for the next 2 years and then i sold it for $2500.00, awesome car my mom and i had matching cars for a while. but during the time i owned the grand prix i also bought a 98 buick lesabre that had the same engine in it and therefore the same exact problem picked that one up for $800.00 never really drove it just fixed the engine and then painted the whole thing.about this time i also picked up a 1989 Toyota 2WD pickup which dosen't run YET! to this day.

and a 1986 Toyota 4RUNNER which dosen't run to this day either.
and then i bought a 97 chevy cavalier for $50.00 the guy i bought it from had no idea what was wrong with it and said i am going to take it to the junk yard, i don't want to fix it, so i said i will give you what the junk yard will give you right now and we'll call it good, he said ok. i bought it and didn't know what was wrong with it. so i thought i will just drop a new engine in it and call it good. well i charged the battery and it ran from that day on, sold it to a guy in colorado when i was out there working with a friend for $1700.00. I had my brother drive it out and deliver it to him.well i sold all 3 the grand prix and the leSabre and the cavalier about the same time grand prix went first, then i traded the LeSabre for my 1997 VW Jetta which i drove to colorado and sold my cavalier while i was out there so here is my other Jetta GT.
It had a 2.0L 4 Cylinder Engine, fun car, the sunroof was awesome, this is the car i had when Carly and I got Married. We also had a 2003 Mitsubishi Galant the first car that i owed money on, but thats ok i love it, it's a really good car, still have it to this day. well i sold the Jetta for $2500.00 Shortly after we were married which left us with one vehicle for a while, I tried to fix the Toyota's but there were just to many things wrong with them. It just so happened that my parents bought a new car at this time and let me drive their Pontiac Grand Prix GT until i sold it, which i sold it for $1500.00 talk about good timing.then i was out a vehicle again, My Dad calls me up and says hey do you want to sell the celebrity and you can drive it around until you do, so now i have another car to drive SWEET! sold that one for $750.
so now i don't have anything to drive, my friend calls me up out of the blue one day and says my car broke down in cedar, and could you sell it for me? i have to leave for california now, ill buy a new car in San Diego. so i say yes, now i have a car to drive, i'll put some money into it to fix it and then make some money off it, it was a 1994 Honda Accord, i never ended up selling it though because he wanted it back and flew from San Diego CA to pick it up again he couldn't buy a new car there like he thought. but he paid me for my time and effort insted so i almost sold that one.
at this same time my friend wanted me to fix his van and he would give me his 1996 Pontiac Grand Am in trade, well it took me about $150.00 and about an hour and then he signed over the titleit didn't look this good when i got it. i fixed the engine, fixed the interior, fixed the brakes, painted the hood, and a new piece of trim on the driver side door, put some new hub caps on, it sold the day i got it out of the body shop for $1100.00 i was so happy with how it turned out at this same time i bought a 2001 Ford Taurus for $400.00
the body was i great shape, the engine however not in good shape the heads were cracked because she ran it out of coolant so rebuilt the top end of the engine and put a new heater core in it recharged the a/c system and flushed the power steering system and put new brakes on it that was fun sold that one about 2 weeks ago. for $2000.00
about 4 months ago we bought a 1996 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 Pickup with the 360 V8 the thing is sweet we got it for $600 it had some issues running because the pcm (powertrain control module) had gone bad, so I changed that out and did an alignment and it's back on the road it's what i drive now.
and about 5 days ago i picked up a 1999 Plymouth Neon for about $100.00 it dosen't run now because the engine threw a rod out the side of the block but i have a new engine and i am going to rebuild it and put it back in the car. well this is over about a 4 year time period it's now Feb 2010 man time flies.
